Hanover High School Physical Education News and Updates 3/8/24

We hope this letter finds you well. The Physical Education department has a couple of upcoming things that we want to inform you about.

Since the NCAA college basketball tournament starts this month, we thought it would be fun to run our own 3-v-3 tournament. This will start on Monday, March 11th, and will run for two weeks. Students will be able to pick their own teams. There will be another activity option for anyone who does not want to participate in the tournament.

There will be a field trip opportunity for all students. On Friday, April 12th, we will be going to Topgolf in Canton, MA. The cost of the trip is $38.00 and it includes transportation, two hours of golf (equipment is provided), and lunch. Lunch will be a turkey sandwich on Texas Toast, Kettle chips, and a chocolate chip cookie. There will be a vegetarian option of a grilled cheese sandwich. Beverages will include fountain soda, lemonade, and water. Unfortunately, according to the venue rules, food from outside is not allowed to be brought in. If your student has any dietary restrictions, please reach out to their physical education teacher. Any interested student should see a physical education teacher for a permission slip. The trip is first come, first served. Checks need to be made out to Hanover High School; cash will also be accepted. Please note that no experience is necessary. We will have an event ambassador to assist with equipment, answer questions, address any needs/wants, and to share their knowledge of the sport.

Lastly, the term will end on Friday, April 5th. All students should strive to end the term on a good note. That means having sneakers, following teacher directions, and participating to the best of their ability for the entire class. If any student would like to boost their grade, they should speak to a physical education teacher as soon as possible to construct a make-up plan. All interests in make-up work must be communicated at least a week before the term ends.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards,

The Physical Education Department
