Hanover High School Schedule Update 12/31/20

I hope you’re enjoying these beautiful – hopefully restful, days of peace and relaxation.

We are anticipating a graceful, hybrid, in-person return to school this upcoming Monday, January 4th.  As we all know, face-to-face time is precious and essential, especially when it comes to teaching-and-learning.  In order to maintain health and safety standards while increasing the frequency with which teachers and students can teach and learn in a face-to-face format, we’ll be moving to a seven-period-a-day schedule.

Remaining unchanged, the BLUE cohort will continue to meet in-person Monday and Tuesday and the GOLD cohort will continue to meet in-person Thursday and Friday; as usual, all will remain remote on Wednesdays.  However, as opposed to meeting 4 periods-a-day incorporating a Flex Block, all 7 periods will now meet on all in-person days.  Please see the attached schedule.

With a significant decrease in passing time and minor adjustments in lunches, we creatively managed to increase essential class time while dismissing slightly earlier in order to address congestion and traffic issues in the afternoon.  These changes are excellent modifications, and we’ll regularly monitor in-person scheduling as health and safety circumstances continue to evolve.

We’ve made other detailed changes, and we’ll review these and others with students on Monday and throughout the week.  For example, our previous period 6 will now necessarily meet prior to periods 5 and 7.  This is not an oversight; rather, it’s a necessary modification to safely accommodate our lunches.  Again, we’ll review these and other scheduling adjustments with students on Monday and throughout the week.

Please enjoy these coming days, and I wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year.  Be warm.  Be safe.
