Announcement of the New Center School Principal 5/14/26
I am very pleased to introduce Mr. David E. Brown as the next Principal of Center Elementary School. Mr. Brown brings more than two decades of experience in education and school leadership, having served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and leadership consultant across a variety of elementary school settings. Most recently, he served as Principal at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School and as a leadership consultant with SchoolWorks and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, where he coached school leaders in instructional leadership and school improvement.
Previously, Mr. Brown served as Principal of the John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Randolph, leading the district’s largest elementary school. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to instructional excellence, positive school culture, family partnerships, and creating inclusive environments where all students can thrive.
There were several highly qualified candidates for this sought-after position. The selection process included a staff survey on desired experience and attributes, two rounds of interviews with district administration, and an interview with a representative committee composed of 16 members, including Center School staff, parents, and district administrators. Throughout the process, Mr. Brown distinguished himself as an experienced, motivational, and thoughtful leader capable of continuing the tradition of excellence at Center School.
During the interview process, Mr. Brown shared his belief that strong elementary schools are built when students feel known, supported, challenged, and successful, and when families and staff experience schools as places of trust, partnership, and care. We are excited to welcome him to the Center School community and look forward to the leadership and experience he will bring to Hanover Public Schools.
As we move toward the end of the school year, opportunities for students, staff, and families to meet Mr. Brown will be planned and shared with all of you. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Brown to our HPS community and to the Center School family!
Sincerely,
Matt Ferron
Superintendent
