Choose Presence Update

May 14, 2018

I want to update you on a few important items as they relate to Safety & Security and our Choose Presence Campaign.

TV Show on Technology/Social Media Issues: We are excited to share our recording of the Technology and School Safety Roundtable Discussion.  The panel features insight from Hanover Police Chief Walter Sweeney, Jr., HHS Associate Principal and HPS Security Liaison Hugh Galligan, District Attorney Timothy Cruz, Assistant District Attorney Amanda Fowle, and Plymouth County Sheriff Investigator Tara Cruza.  We want to extend a special thank you to our moderator Christine James Managing Editor of WATD, Officer John, and HCTV for your support in making this a great resource for our community.

Town Meeting Warrant Article for Security Cameras: At the Annual Town Meeting on May 7th, the Article for funding security cameras at Hanover Middle School and Cedar School was approved.  We are working with the Town Facilities Department to determine a timeline for installation and are hopeful it will begin this summer.

New Date for Dr. Michael Rich, “The Mediatrician”: As you know, this winter did not cooperate for us to host Dr. Michael Rich, “The Mediatrician”.  We have rescheduled his presentation for Monday, September 24, 2018 at 7:00PM at the High School to continue our Choose Presence Campaign next year.  For more information on the event and Dr. Rich please visit our Choose Presence page on our website.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.  Have a great night.

Sincerely,

Matt Ferron
Superintendent of Schools
