Hanover High School Football Home Opener and Athletics Update 10/11/23

Hanover Hawks

The 2022 fall season was historic for our Hanover Hawks. While reflecting on the season, I was fairly certain I witnessed one of the greatest fall seasons in school history. Student academic achievement was tremendous, community support was fantastic, individual accolades for coaches and students were numerous, and overall tournament success was widespread.

Based on recent performances and current standings, the 2023 fall season is setting the table for an even greater fall season! If interested in checking out an upcoming regular season event, schedules for all high school sports can be accessed on ArbiterLive.com. And truthfully, it is time to jump on numerous band wagons!!

And whether looking to fill a void left by the Patriots, or simply a fan of great community events, I hope you will join us at the Harry Gerrish Memorial Field this Friday for the first home football game. Our undefeated Hanover Hawks host the Quincy Presidents with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Digital tickets are required and may only be secured online. Cash transactions are not an option. Tickets may be secured at any time on Hanover’s GoFan site. This option is convenient as it allows the customer to transfer purchased tickets electronically via email or text. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate using a credit/debit card along with other mobile payment options, including Apple Pay.

Typically, admission is $6 for all adults and $4 for senior citizens and students. Through the continued generosity and annual display of community support by the AP Insurance Group, admission to this game is FREE for ALL students, senior citizens, veterans, and first responders.

Agency principal Kevin Dyer has demonstrated longstanding support for numerous organizations in our community, with HHS Athletic sponsorships dating back 10 years. Kevin and his wife, Joanna, thankfully rooted their family in Hanover and developed great ties in our community. Their involvement in and support for our community has been greatly appreciated on many levels. Thank you, AP Insurance Group and Dyer Family!

During the football game, if you are not already near the home stands enjoying the atmosphere enhanced by the marching band and cheerleaders, please make your way towards the home stands at halftime to view performances by both groups!

And if you are unable to gather with our community on Friday evening, the game will be live-streamed by HCTV on their education channel (Education VOD) and YouTube channel (Hanover Athletics).

I look forward to an exciting Friday evening.  Thank you for your continued support and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Appreciatively,

Scott Hutchison, Athletic Director
Hanover High School
