In Memory of Pamela Borgeson

Pam Borgeson

I am heartbroken to report that one of our veteran HHS teachers, Pamela Borgeson, passed away yesterday after a long illness.  For the past nine years, Pam taught engineering and robotics at Hanover High School.  She was a strong advocate for her students, a loyal and thoughtful colleague, and a professional that was always forward-thinking, creating new and exciting learning opportunities for her students.  Pam was passionate about engaging girls in engineering, and she always encouraged our female students to explore and pursue all opportunities within STEM education.

Pam faced her health issues with courage, grace, dignity, and optimism.  Her passing is impossibly sad, but her strength is an example of the power of the human spirit that we all can admire.  Please keep Pam’s family and friends in your hearts and prayers as they grieve this loss and remember with fondness a lifetime of memories and special times.  One of the beautiful things about being a teacher is that you live on in the knowledge, inspiration, support, and kindness that is shared with your students.  Pam will long be remembered, and the lives of hundreds of children are better for her time with us.

In this time of social distance, we don’t yet know how we will celebrate Pam's life and her career with us in Hanover, but we will find a way.  Administration and Counselors will be available this week for any student who needs support.

The Greeks, who have words for everything, have a special prayer for a time such as this: May the memory of our dearly departed Pamela, who is worthy of blessedness and eternal memory, be with us now and forever and ever.

Rest in peace, Pam.

Sincerely,

Matt Ferron
