Transportation Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year Reminder 6/25/26

Hanover School Bus

The Hanover Public Schools Bus Registration and Payment Portal for the 2026–2027 school year is now open and will remain available through Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

Families are encouraged to register early and review the transportation guidelines, including the fee structure and eligibility requirements, to ensure a smooth start to the school year. Bus routes and staffing will be planned based on completed registrations, including payments received on or before June 30th. Registrations received after the June 30th deadline will result in the student being placed on a waiting list for transportation.

To help families through the process, we’ve provided a step-by-step Fee Payment Platform Account Creation Guide, available through the Hanover Public Schools Fee Payment Platform.

Fee Structure

School districts are required to transport students in grades K-6 who live 2 miles or more from school without incurring any cost to the family. Our registration system has also been designed to identify students who qualify for free or reduced lunch (that we presently have on record) and adjust fees accordingly. A confidential email address and designated staff member are available for any family who feels that they may qualify for relief from fees, and the student(s) is not identified in the registration system. The email address is available in the payment portal.

  • Students in grades 7 to 12: $250/student
  • Students in grades K-6 living less than 2 miles from school: $250/student
  • Students in grades K-6 living 2 miles or further from school: Free
  • Family cap for 3+ bus riders: $625/family

Measurable Distances

The software used for the registration process will calculate the distance between the student’s residence of record and the front door of the school they will attend, as part of the online payment portal.

Other Considerations

The District is unable to prorate bus fees for part-time riders (e.g., families who may want to use the bus only during the morning or afternoon, or only on certain days of the week). The total number of buses required (and paid for) is routed as if students are riding both ways on a daily basis. If a student is planning to ride the bus, the full fee is required.

Bus Passes Introduced This Year

Beginning this fall, all bus riders will be required to carry bus passes daily. Additional information regarding the bus passes will be shared soon.
