Read Across America at Hanover Middle School

The National Education Association's Read Across America Day takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participated in this 15th annual celebration of reading by bringing together kids and books. At the Hanover Middle School, Grade 5 students were visited by guest readers from the community who shared their love of books and reading with the students. As a special addition to the event this year, one of the readers, Colonel Charles Perenick, of the MA Army National Guard, in a "coining" ceremony, presented the Hanover Middle School with a commemorative coin from the Massachusetts Military Academy, which was the first state military academy in the nation.
