Hanover SEPAC Safety in the IEP, March 1, 2022

Presented by Carrie Noseworthy, founder of “A Safer Me”

Please join us for a training and discussion focused on helping address safety concerns throughout the school/placement day. Safety concerns can take many forms including bolting, aggression, toileting, learning how to access ALICE training, transition-age youth (TAY), adult services, and more. We work to empower the caregiver by discussing ways to translate the emotion and concerns around safety into action items and goals to address their concerns.

Carrie will be sharing ways to connect documents families may have including a safety plan and an individualized health plan to best work for their child. She will also highlight ways to incorporate common specific concerns into the IEP to cover areas most likely to lead to unnecessary discipline or safety concerns.

Carrie Noseworthy founded “A Safer Me” to increase equitable access to safety with a focus on children and young adults of all abilities in their environments. Carrie is a former LEND Fellow, earned her MPA at Suffolk University, and is a U.S. Army veteran. She uses the blend of these professional experiences combined with her personal experiences as a sibling and parent, relating to trauma, mental health, and disability, to bring forth an informed voice of change pertinent to professionals in the field, as well as the families who they serve through training, consultation, and community leadership.

Please view the attached flyer for more details.

We hope to see you there!
