Center School Stars Program

Program Description

The Stars Program at Center Elementary School provides a comprehensive education in a structured classroom environment for students diagnosed with ASD and/or learning disabilities.  The goal is to provide social, behavioral, academic, and therapeutic supports to prepare students for successful inclusion opportunities.  Instruction is multi-sensory and differentiated, guided by principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodology using discrete trial teaching, research-based, and focused on maximizing students’ success in all curriculum areas.  Environmental structure and positive behavioral supports, including ABA methodology, are individualized to enhance students’ ability to process and communicate information.  These supports promote the cognitive development, self-regulation, social growth, and independence that students require to be successful in the classroom.
